Go USA Bid!

On December 2nd of this year, FIFA will announce the candidates to host the 2018 and 2022 Men's World Cup. The United States has put in a bid for both years (they will only be able to host one). The bid includes stadiums in eighteen cities, including Foxboro's Gillette Stadium.

The USA hosted the World Cup for the first time in 1994, and despite skepticism, it was very successful. Not only did it boost the popularity of the sport within the country (and helped lead to the creation of Major League Soccer), but it also set records for highest average attendance (almost 69,000 per game) and total attendance (almost 3.6 million). This last record remains intact despite the tournament expanding from 24 to 32 teams in 1998 (allowing for more games and ticket sales).

Help bring the World Cup back to the United States, and Boston!

Welcome

Hello

This is a site that will be dedicated and geared towards the soccer community in Watertown, Massachusetts. It is a work in progress, but it will be expanded on shortly. In the other pages, you can already find a schedule of the Watertown High School boys and girls varsity soccer teams. It includes scores of the games, as well as a link to recaps of the game from the Watertown Tab.

The purpose of this site is to be able to expand coverage of soccer within the community. Soccer is the fastest growing sport in the United States, and Watertown is no different. In the future, we will be looking to provide information on high school and middle school teams, Watertown Youth Soccer results and recaps, information about registrations for league play, as well as for various local camps within the area. There will also be other information about topics such as the United States National Team, the New England Revolution and the Boston Breakers.

Hope you enjoy
